We dream too. We dream of a better future for strays. A future where they are respected and where humans can peacefully co-exist with them. A future where a street dog doesn’t have to be scared of getting hit with a rock. A future where everyone shares a part of their meal with those whose cannot ask for it themselves. A future where humans happily allow dogs to sit in the shade of their home, during 40+ degree Celsius weather in India. A future where we don’t see any malnourished pregnant street dogs giving birth multiple times. A future where mother dogs aren’t hovering over their dead puppies on the street. A future where India’s rabies cases are far and few between.
We have a long way to go. We don’t know if this future is probable in our life time, but we HAVE TO TRY. We are in this for the long haul and it’s our supportive and generous community who gives us the strength to continue. Support from artists like Vishwa Tailor who lovingly spent 7 hours on this beautiful painting JUST to help make our dreams come true.
