Hello my human friends! My name is Prancer and I’m a 6 month year old puppy looking for my forever home. My foster dad found me abandoned and dehydrated on the side of the road. I’ve really enjoyed being indoors and comfortable instead of out on that hot road. You might be wondering why they call me Prancer, it’s because I love to hop around my home like Santa’s reindeer. Being a puppy, I have so much energy to expend and love playing with my squeak and stuffed toys. I hope you’ll have many chew toys ready to engage me in if I am in one of these playful moods.
I spend 7 hours a day just relaxing with my foster siblings in the living room while my foster dad is away at work. He takes me to explore the outside world when he gets home, which I really enjoy. Sometimes when I see him for the first time after so long, I get very excited and can’t control my excitement, this can lead to small peeing accidents. Hehe.
I wanted to let you know about a condition I have called hydrocephalus. It means there is an excessive amount of fluid in my brain. No wonder when I look in the mirror my forehead looks a bit larger and why my eye look more squinted than normal. My vet said that I am "functional", so that's a good sign. We are still figuring out what it means for the future. My foster dad tells me that this means I am a special kid who just requires a bit more patience and time as I learn things. I know with some time and patience I will get better at things like leash walking, recall, commands and house-training. Dad tells me I am the best boy and the most affectionate puppy he has ever met. I do love giving humans kisses and receiving them back.
I am still getting used to the crate, and sometimes get a little sad when I can’t be around my humans. When I'm out in the living room, I am a good boy and not destructive. I’ve been on a car ride a few times with my foster dad and I’ve really enjoyed just sitting in someone’s lap and watching the sights fly by.
My ideal home is with someone who has time and energy to dedicate to me, since I’m still a puppy and I have a lot to learn! I require an extra bit of patience and preparation due to my special needs but in return I will provide endless cuddles and kisses. Will you be my furever home?
