Manitoba is on fire! A few First Nations communities are being completely evacuated in Manitoba because of the forest fires. More than 2000 people have already been flown out. Unfortunately, on these small aircrafts there is no room for community (homeless) animals or pets.
In First Nations Communities, many people care for and feed homeless animals, referring to them as "community dogs." We need to step in and help these community dogs. Even their beloved house pets have been left behind.
In cases of emergency and natural disasters, human life is always prioritized first by government rescue efforts. We want to help with some of the emergency relief efforts going on for more than 600+ homeless cats and dogs. We have partnered with Manitoba Animal Alliance to help out. From the money we raise, a portion of it will go towards buying dog food and the other portion will be used to fund a portion of the flight that is going from Winnipeg to the first nation communities every day, full of food, to feed these animals.
