Hi, I'm Carrie from California! My life has turned around completely since I got out of Bladwin Park Animal Shelter (a high-kill shelter). I was marked urgent because I was being overlooked. You see, I was very scared at this shelter. For 35 days, I stayed in my kennel 24/7 and refused to leave. I did not go on a single walk and did not want to interact with anyone If people would come and visit my kennel, I would go to a corner, shiver and make no eye contact. Upon being rescued, I have come out of my shell at my foster family's house and I'm living the stress-free comfy life. It's all new to me, but I'm loving it. And I'm so grateful.

I make BEST FRIENDS easily. I love all humans and my favorite thing in the world is to show you how much I love you. I will try to make you smile everyday! I’m happy, energetic and full of love. I promise I will be a ray of sunshine in your life. I am looking for a loyal companion who can be patient with me while I adjust to a new home. I’m still a puppy at heart, so I'll need your help with general manners. If you're consistent, understanding, and can be a firm but gentle leader, I’ll reward you with unconditional love!
I’m really smart and I respond to my name when called. I'd love to learn more things from you, especially if you have treats! Oh, and I am also fully housebroken, so you don't have to worry about that. This may surprise you, but I'm not a chewer. Your brand name shoes and purses are safe on the ground, because I'm not interested in them! To make your life even easier, I'm not a picky eater.

I'm active, medium-to-high energy, and very playful! In my foster home, I have a foster sister and we have a lot of fun together!
I love to play and get along great with other dogs—my pack mates are my best friends! I’m still a puppy at heart, so I'll need your help with general manners, such as not jumping up on people, even though I only do that when I get excited to see you! I also enjoy frolicking around in the backyard and going for walks with my foster family. I would love to be in a furever home where my new family could slowly take me to new places and show me that the world isn't a scary place. I'd like to see more of the mountains, I'd like to go to a dog-friendly restaurant, maybe even a camping trip? I hope to experience all these things with YOU in the future.

Once I’ve warmed up to you, I’m super snuggly and affectionate. I’ll be your cuddle buddy and shower you with love and kisses.  I’m ready to be your forever companion, learning and growing with you every step of the way!

*Side note from the founder of ACZ - We do not understand how such healthy and well behaved dogs like Carrie end up on the euthanasia list.  She does not even have 'one bad bone' in her body. There are so many well tempered, kind and gentle dogs at dog shelters who are very scared and just want love and nothing more. Please adopt a shelter dog today and save their life [literally...]
